I was really THAT sick???

I know this is a WORST picture of me! Can you see I'm all swollen?? I was alot more swollen than this! okay, so here is what happened! In the middle of February I got sick with what I thought was a sinus infection. (it's that time of year! Always happens at the same time of year) I was just not getting better! My sweet husband and his brother gave me a blessing and I thought well that's it I'll be better in a few days... I did get a little better but then I got worse! I asked Ira to take me to the emergency room because I was up all night throwing up.

They ran all kinds of tests and came up with Mono...ok. I can deal with that now that I know what I have two weeks later I was not getting any better and this time my jaw was swelling and I couldn't open my mouth. I called into work and thought hopefully I'll feel better over the weekend! I MUST feel better! Ira and our friend gave me another blessing. That evening I asked Ira to take me to the ER again.

Again... all kinds of tests! I felt like a pin cushion! This time they wanted to do a CT scan to see if I had an infection where the swelling was. FINE!  They found out that I had a HUGE infection behind my tonsils that reached back to my skull and went up my jaw. HOLY CRAP!

So They had a surgeon come in to look at the scan and he suggested emergency surgery. So that night around 10:00pm I had my tonsils out and the infection removed. Dr. Wood went out and and talked to Ira the surgery was to last about 30min. The infection was worse than they thought and to make sure they got it all I was under for an hour! I spent the night in the hospital and went home the next morning.
Dr. Wood was concerned because I had a tooth that was broken in the back of my mouth (I had a root canal on it) He was worried that, that is what caused the infection.

Monday morning I went to the dentist and had the tooth pulled. That wasn't the cause.

Thursday I went to Dr. Wood for a follow up He said I was healing better then expected and I could go back to work the following Monday. WAHOO!

Dr. Wood also said that I had a severe case of strep throat and that is was caused all the infection. The scary part... If I would have waited a few more days like I had wanted to the infection would have started eating my skull and the infection would have gotten into my brain! SCARY! I'm glad that I listened to the promptings that I was feeling and went to the ER!

I also want to thank everyone who was there to help us! And all the flowers and popsicles I enjoyed!

Two weeks later I'm still a little sore! I feel 10X better!!

After Thankgiving comes Christmas... Right???

So if you live in Utah, and it's Christmas time, what do you do? DUH, you go see the lights at Temple Square!
Here is Ira and I in front of the Salt Lake Temple! What the heck is up with his expression???

We had this bright idea to take the train down to SLC instead of driving so we didn't have to worry about parking! SO MUCH FUN! We drove to Ogden hopped on the Front Runner and then took TRAX around Salt Lake, the cost was $10.00 round trip! AWESOME! Crystal and I started singing Popcorn Popping and the entire train started singing along with us!
Ira has never seen the inside of the tabernacle, To our surprise a teenage boy was playing the organ OH MY GOSH what a talented young man!

I just loved all the lights and SO MANY nativity scenes Really it was all so Beautiful!
Even in the cold of December one single flower!

So pretty isn't it??

DI... For you non-Utahin' people... Dessert Industries!

DI is the LOVE of my life! I LOVE walking in and finding all the treasures other people don't want anymore!

My "new" (to me) church bag! It's perfect cute, and was only $1.00!! Pure love!

You can't  really see it but the sign above the pictures says families forever... a Perfect RS project someone got tired of. I put it in my living I have some greenery above it now. and as Latter Day Nigh Biscuit would say... "My house is a home" best part! $1.00!!!!

This HUGE star I found at a garage sale. It was hanging above their garage. Everything was make offer! I got it for $5.00 and now it's hanging in my landing area upstairs! I LOVE it, the husband hates it. (I really don't know why)

I have this little baggie I keep spare change in, LOL I have a huge stash of it... it's my DI fund. Normally I cash it in and take dollars with me, I forgot to cash it in one day and when I got up to the counter I had to pay with change all $15.00!!! SO FUNNY Luckily it was a quiet day and no one was behind me.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm working on catching up...

Nothing really happened between July and November... LOL ok, nothing that I can remember. Ira went fishing. I had a Birthday(we don't talk about how old I'm getting). Ira got laid off from his job. Charlie (my Favorite father-in-law) came to visit! and we had Thanksgiving.

I realized that THIS ↑ is my ONLY thanksgiving decoration! How lame is that??
