Getting Healthy!!!

I have been heavy my entire life! and guess what?? I'm SICK OF IT!

So, in January I started a Facebook group called "30 Day Challenge"

Each month I post a new challenge to help me and my quest for getting healthy!

I have a few reasons that I want to get healthy:

1. I want to get healthy for me!
2. I want to be healthy for my husband!
and
3. I want to be healthy so that I can have a family!

January's challenge brought us crunches, starting each day we did so many number of crunches.
February's challenge, is a plank challenge,

As of this morning, I'm down 22 pounds, and am feeling great!

I've been without soda for 1 week 2 days 12 hours and 40 minutes.

Sew Crazy Challenge

This month for the Sew Crazy Challenge we were given 3 different options to complete

I choose the Pintucked Zipper Pouch

The tutorial is found at Simple Simon and Co.

Here is my version of the bag... this is the first time I've done Pintucks,

and the first time the zipper actually worked!

I'm really proud of it. It only took me about an hour once I picked out my fabric.
The fabric I picked was just from my stock pile.

It was such a simple project, a great one to make for a gift, and fill with fun little treasures!

I can't wait to see what February's challenge is!

Goodbye 2013...Hello 2014

2013, gave us so many ups and downs, honestly each year gives us so many ups and downs! Each year we fight with health problems, with financial woes, employment issues. 2013 was no different. I am thankful that Ira and I haven't had MAJOR issues this last year.

2014, brings an exciting time! It's a clean slate wiped clean for a fresh start! I can't wait to see what it will bring!

Last year I made ONE resolution. Just ONE, I really wanted to prove to myself that I could accomplish ONE goal in a year. My ONE resolution was to send birthday cards to all the immediate members of my family, and I DID IT! I actually accomplished a goal I set for myself!

Here are this years resolutions..

  1. To read the Book of Mormon
  2. Send Birthday Cards
  3. Eat dinner at the table
  4. Complete 30 day challenges each month (either for exercise or "self-help")
  5. Lose weight
  6. Blog more
  7. Read all the Newbery Award winners. (92 books!)
Losing weight is a huge one for me... I have been heavy all my life, and it's time for me to get healthy for both me and my husband, to live a life without worrying. And most importantly to be healthy enough to have a family.

Ira and I are hitting a milestone anniversary this year, Feb. 21st we will be married for 10 years. I'm excited to see what the next 10 years will bring to our family!

HAPPY 2014 to you and your family!

Woes of blogging

I honestly am a terrible blogger, sometimes I wonder if I really just don't live that exciting of a life to keep blogging. I follow so many successful blogs that I gives me the "want" to keep blogging.

Each year I say I'm going to blog more, and each year I fail... and fail miserably !

So this year, I want to blog more, I want to bring you, my faithful readers (if there are any left!) some exciting posts, and give you a peek in my crazy school driven life...my life that consists of:

  • my wonderful husband
  • my two laid back dogs
  • one crazy cat, that doesn't like her own reflection
  • my life while I'm working and going to school full time

I hope you will join with me, while I attempt this blogging thing AGAIN!

A year in review

It's hard to believe it's been a year since I've last really truly blogged. It's also hard to believe that nothing really has gone on in that year. To recap a little....

  • We made our annual trip to Flaming Gorge last July... (Which is coming up again very fast).
  • I've been in school... my class are each 5 weeks long that makes them VERY intense classes. My classes have insisted English, English, and more English classes... oh yes, with a 2 very PAINFUL math classes, which with the help of the powers that be, I passed!
  • Trips to Nevada
  • OH, we did get a new dog, as you can see on the right side of the blog. She is the most goofy chocolate lab.
See.. nothing too exciting.

I think the most exciting thing that happened this year, is that I graduated to a Sophomore.

I'm not promising that I will write more. Just that I will try and write more.

Is anyone out there?

Does anyone still read my blog??

I know it's been awhile, I know I need to catch you up. Does the excuse that I'm in school work?

Ira and I are so blessed to have such wonderful mothers in our lifes! Here is a great quote I found that just sums up how we feel about them!

A mother's hug lasts long after she lets go. ~Author Unknown

There is nothing like a mother's hug!

Happy Mothers Day!!

Old School

I love finding old pictures of my parents! CLASSIC right?

Love the blue suit. I have no idea where they are or what they are there for...
I'm sure it has something to do with Am-way.  LOL

Didn't every LDS parent sell Am-way?
